Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before buying, in one place. Something missing? The contact page is right there.
Where do you ship from?
Italy. Every plushie is designed by me, quality-checked by hand and shipped from here, worldwide.
How long does shipping take?
Orders go out every Tuesday and Friday. Italy: a couple of working days. Rest of Europe: a few days. Everywhere else: about a week and a half. You get a tracking number by email as soon as the label prints. More details on the shipping policy page.
How much is shipping?
Calculated at checkout with real courier rates, based on where you are and what's in your cart. You see the exact number before you pay: no surprises.
Will I get charged customs?
Inside the EU: no. Outside the EU: possibly, depending on your country's rules, and any import duties are on the recipient. The shipping policy explains it.
Can I pay in euros?
Yes. Checkout switches between USD and EUR, converted at the current rate. Pick whichever one your bank likes more.
How do I wash my plushie?
Spot clean with mild soap and lukewarm water, then air dry. Keep the embroidered face away from the washing machine: it's the one part that can't take a spin.
When do sold-out plushies come back?
Restocks and new characters get announced through the newsletter first, and on @sartouhou right after. If something's sold out, that's how you find out before it's gone again.
Do you take commissions?
Not right now. I used to, and I loved it, but commissions turned into a second job on top of my actual job, and that's a fast track to burning out on the thing you love. The shop is the compromise: I keep making plushies and hanging out in the community, at my own pace, with no deadlines hanging over me. If that ever changes, the newsletter will know first.
Will you ever make [my favorite character]?
Maybe! If it were up to me, I would make every single one! Unfortunately doing this costs money and takes time. New designs get picked based on demand, and some get voted through polls: another thing the newsletter is useful for.
Is this official Touhou merchandise?
No. Everything here is an original fan-made (doujin) design by Sarto. Touhou is a famously fanworks-friendly series; this is that, in plush form.
Is it a fumo?
No: the style is inspired by the famous fumo plushies, but every design is my own. If you're after the official Gift plushies, I'll happily point you in the right direction.
Okay, but what IS a fumo?
Fumos are a plush line produced by the Japanese company Gift. While nowadays any Touhou plush gets called a fumo, "true" fumos are the ones only they make, which have their distinct big-eyed and sitting style.
